Bookish Naughty or Nice Tag

Happy Tuesday everyone!! Today I’m bringing to you a tag originally created by Jenn last year. If you don’t follow her then you definitely should. My tag from last year is here. I’m not even going to look at it because it’s probably super cringe-worthy.

I was tagged by Luna. If you don’t follow her you should because she has so many quality posts and excellent taste in books and in general is a sweetheart.

Rules

  • Tag & link the person who tagged you
  • Tag and link me/this post (if you would be so kind, I love reading your answers!)
  • Tick/cross off the ones you’ve done
  • Tag another 10 people!

The list- check it twice

  • Received an ARC and not reviewed it  *
    • ARCs set to me specifically by publishers have all been reviewed on or before the publication date. ARCs received through my job is another story.
  • Have less than 60% feedback rating on Netgalley
    • I’m sitting at a healthy 78% right now
  • Rated a book on goodreads and promised a full review was to come on your blog (and never did)
    • Mentally I probably did but I never put it into text that a review was going to happen.
  • Folded down the page of a book
    • No, I normally use tabs or a bookmark.
  • Accidentally spilled on a book **
    • Whoops. I normally only fill my coffee mug halfway. I made really weak coffee a week or so ago and so I made a stronger batch to even it out. Instead of just combining the two in the pot I decided to just fill up my cup. I readjusted and it spilled all over Shadow of the Wind.
  • DNF a book this year **
    • I’ve finally come to terms with the fact I can’t get to every book so if I hate it from the beginning I should just DNF it. I DNF’d The Silent Wife, Two Years Eight Months and Twenty-Eight Nights, The Wicked Boy and The Kill Order.
  • Bought a book purely because it was pretty with no intention of reading it *
    • Umm… I have every intention of reading every book I have (It’ll take like 10 years) but I did buy like five Leatherbound Classics from Barnes and Noble. There is one of them I’m contemplating buying a cheaper version to carry around with me because it’s a huge book.
  • Read whilst you were meant to be doing something else (like homework) **
    • Cue many nights but also a lot of it was to give my eyes a break from the computer screen.
  • Skim read a book **
    • I mean I’ve been really bad about paying 100% attention to audiobooks so I’ve missed bits so I’m going to say that’s equal.
  • Completely missed your Goodreads goal **
    • I actually brought mine down from 100 books to nonexistent once I realized it wasn’t going to be possible for me to complete my program and read that much. Obviously one was more important.
  • Borrowed a book and not returned it to the library
    • Honestly I haven’t used the library much this year and except for the ones I currently have out all of them are returned and I don’t think I had any fines this year from late returns either.
  • Broke a book buying ban
    • I actually learned to work in contingencies saying I can only buy x amount  of books. I only did one of these this year. I said four books within the couple months and ended up buying two.
  • Started a review, left it for ages then forgot what the book was about
    • I was very lax about blogging this year so this never happened. Unless I was going to write it in one sitting a blog post didn’t generally get written. There are a couple of exceptions.
  • Wrote in a book you were reading **
    • Mainly highlighting but when I read nonfiction I write in my books a lot.
  • Finished a book and not added it to your Goodreads **
    • Sometimes my friends and I look through the picture books and end up reading the whole thing and those I don’t really count. They take like two seconds.
  • Borrowed a book and not returned it to a friend **
    • I borrowed my friend’s copy of a book her work gave her and still haven’t read it… The sad part is it is only 150-ish pages. I also have my sister’s fiancé’s copy of the first GoT. I was told not to return it until I read it so….. it may be a while and he knows that.
  • Dodged someone asking if they can borrow a book
    • Nah, I generally don’t care if my friends borrow books. There are a couple I really don’t want to give out because I plan to read or reread them soon.
  • Broke the spine of someone else’s book
    • Nope, I’ve just borrowed the two.
  • Took the jacket off a book to protect it and ended up making it more damaged
    • Surprisingly I haven’t! I put them in a specific place where they don’t get ruined because that entire shelf just doesn’t get touched.
  • Sat on a book accidentally **
    • Many many times. I don’t think any of them have been ruined from it though.

My final score? 10/20. What would your score be?

  1. What a fun tag! Honestly, some books just look better with a few coffee stains on them. I think Shadow of the Wind is one of them. :p It happens. I love books that look loved.

  2. I was on the naughty list. I think there were 5 things I didn’t do. I also think I messed up cause I didn’t realize it was for just this year and I did it for previous years too. Whoops. Always next year.
