The Sunshine Award

It always makes me so happy when I get nominated for different awards. And I honestly love doing them! This time I got nominated by the amazing Reg from Bookish in Bed not just once but twice because that’s how much I procrastinated on the first one. Her blog is amazing and you should definitely check it out!

For this nomination there are 4 rules to follow:

1.) Thank the blogger(s) who nominated you for the blog post and link back to their blog.

2.) Answer the 11 questions that the blogger asked you.

3.) Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 questions.

4.) List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post and/or blog.

The Questions for me:

1.) Why did you start your blog?
I was an intern at a publishing house and I got to deal with a lot of different bloggers (some I still follow) and I loved reading all of the posts so I decided I want to start a book blog in addition to the travel/ personal blog I already had. I later combined the two.

2.) What is some advice you have for other bloggers?
Be yourself and don’t stress. If you don’t feel like posting then don’t, if you want to post twice in a day do it. If you want to post something out of the ordinary go for it! It’s your place on the web, do with it what you want.

3.) What fictional place would you travel to if you could?
I would love to travel into the world of Fillory, the world was more extravagant the longer the books went on. It wasn’t just based on nonsense, there was also a system involved that included a lot of practice and precision. Now I really want to reread The Magician Trilogy.

4.) What author do you wish you could be friends with?
V.E. Schwabe. Anyone who has seen her twitter should understand.

5.) Whose your favorite author that you’ve met?
I got to see Laurie Halse Anderson last fall and it was amazing. I loved her books in high school so it was fantastic to finally meet her. I also got to meet Will Schwalbe and he was amazing. He just gets the love of books and the comforting powers.

6.) What author would you trust to write your biography?
I don’t even know if I would trust myself writing about me. Maybe Donna Tratt, she’d make me sound like I was the next Shakespeare.

7.) What is your favorite book to movie adaptation?
Fight Club. Both were equally perfect which doesn’t normally happen. I also really enjoyed To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before and Perks of Being a Wallflower movies more than the books.

8.) Which book to movie adaptation do you wish never happened?
The Shining. The movie took so many important things out of the book. It made it seem as though Jack just went insane. There are so many more layers to the book that the movie didn’t even touch on.

9.) What book do you wish would be turned into a movie?
Everything Leads to You by Nina LaCour. I read it over a while ago and it still sticks in my mind. I would definitely watch it over and over again. Their relationship is honestly so adorable.

10.) What book do you wish had a cookbook for it?
The entire Shifters series by Rachel Vincent. There’s a lot of food mentioned in it and they’re constantly eating. Obviously the food must be good.

11.) What is your most anticipated release of 2018?
Umm… when you realize how long ago it actually was since you’ve been tagged and you have to change your answer. My original one was Bring Me Back by B. A. Paris which I did read and loved.

I’m nominating (and I know it’s not 11): Jenn, Lia, Aimee, Rhianne, Ceara, CourtneyAmy, Courtney, and whoever else wants to do it!!

Here are my questions to you:

  1. Are you a mood reader or can you plan out your reading? Do you wish you were the opposite?
  2. If you could be any author for a day who would you be?
  3. What got you into your favorite genre?
  4. If all of a sudden you weren’t able to do your current job/ degree/ hobby, what would you do instead?
  5. What is a childhood book you want to revisit?
  6. What is your biggest non-reading related goal for 2019?
  7. What is your favorite memory from 2018?
  8. What is a book in a genre you normally hate that you loved?
  9. How do you take your coffee/ what is your go-to coffee order?
  10. Why did you choose your profession? Or major or path in life.
  11. If you could only see one band live for the rest of your life who would it be?

  1. I honestly didn’t even realize you didn’t do this lol. I am glad you did. I love your answer for who you’d want to write your biography. Really wish I had connections to get Donna Tart to write it. Maybe one day lol.

  2. Originally I had Anna Kendrick but now I’m like nah I wanna sound smart and sophisticated. I didn’t feel like finding the other time you tagged me. I thought I had copied those questions to this one as well but apparently not.

  3. Oh I like Anna Kendrick as an answer too cause I can just see it being like a really chill funny read. I can see you guys being friends. So I feel like Anna Kendrick could write about your younger years like you still trying to figure things out and then Donna Tart can come in and write the chapters of the older Jenna. I think that should happen. That would be an awesome author duo.
