Halloween movie faves

No Halloween season is without movie marathons and I have yet to have one. Obviously that needs to change but here are my all-time Halloween favorite movies. The scary movies list is coming, don’t worry. I wasn’t going to make you guys read a 1,000+ word post.

Hocus Pocus

For as long as I can remember I’ve watched Hocus Pocus at least once a year around Halloween. I’m pretty sure I’ve only missed one year when I didn’t bring my copy to college. Honestly, how can you not love it?

Halloweentown

All of them honestly. I just didn’t want to list all of them separately. This series brings me back to my childhood, watching Disney Channel, trying to make popcorn during commercial breaks, hearing my sister yell that the show was back on. Good times. Simpler times.

The Nightmare before Christmas

The eternal debate of whether this is a Halloween or a Christmas movie begins. (It’s both) When I started loving this one it was on Netflix but it’s not always on there. Right now it isn’t. This is one of the few movies I own that I went out of my way to track down the DVD version of it.

The Addams Family (1991)

I found a VHS version of this lying around the house one day and watched it and loved it. I need to get a DVD version of this one still since we only have a couple VHS players left. I do want to track down the TV series as well but I’m worried I won’t like it because it’s not the same actors.

Casper

Another one I haven’t watched in forever because of the VHS/DVD thing. This was an all time favorite when I was a kid, and if you haven’t seen it you’re missing out. Maybe I’ll watch it this year and see if I still feel the same way.

The Haunted Mansion

My favorite Disney ride. One of my favorite movies. This is just perfection. It’s lighthearted, funny and one that you can watch time and time again.

There are a million and one Halloween movies I have yet to watch and a million and one scary movies to get to as well. I’m planning to do a scary movie faves post in the coming weeks as well.

What are your favorite Halloween movies?

  1. This list is amazing! I am now feeling a Halloween movie marathon with my kids tonight. We actually watch Hocus Pocus, Nightmare Before Christmas, and Corpse Bride nonstop all year lol.

  2. I deff want to steal this idea and do like a favorite spooky movies list. I have a lot of weird movies I liked when I was younger. Some of them are due for a rewatch.
