Over the summer I read quite a few books. I was reading like 10+ books a month so here’s my top three. I didn’t even have any really bad books during the summer; they were all pretty good.
Red, White and Royal Blue
This made me want to read all of the cutesy romantic books. I didn’t end up doing that but I did buy some more in order to read them…. the book pile of shame. For those who missed the hype about this one it was about the first son and the future prince of England falling in love.
It was absolutely adorable and I’m so glad I read it so quickly. I buddy read it with Reg. It was so much fun to be able to text her whenever I got to a good part.
Written in Red
I read a lot of paranormal books when I was in middle school and early high school. There was one longer series by Anne Bishop and I finally decided to read the first one. Yes, it really did take me that long. Are any of us surprised?
The writing was normal. Not good, not bad but I loved the characters in it. There was development within the characters and growth as well which I wasn’t expecting that early in the series.
Deathnote Vol 1 & 2
People have talked about this for years. It’s been very low-key digging further and further into my brain as a series I have to read. I read the first two and they were such quick reads.
These are two Japanese graphic novels that have been adapted into multiple shows which I want to watch after I finish the entire series.
Red, White and Royal Blue was one of my favorites I read too. It was so cute. I definitely want to pick up more romance books. Maybe after spooky season ends. I also have been wanting to read Deathnote after watching the show. So I’ll have to pick those up eventually.

My most anticipated this summer was unhonneymooners and I never even got to it. Maybe I’ll read a ton of feel good books around the holiday
