So I did a post a while ago about my favorite halloween movies that were more just fun ones and I promised my favorite scary movies. When I watch movies I switch between cutesy rom-com and scary movies. It’s a good blend. They balance each other out.
I also did a post about scary movies I still want to watch this year which you can find here.
When I was super young my sister and her friend watched this and I was told not to come down… but I wanted ice cream and I came down during the well scene. I didn’t watch horror for a couple years after that but when I rewatched it I realized I loved this movie and horror movies in general. So apparently it didn’t mess me up too horribly.
The premise of this movie really freaks me out and I think that’s why I liked it so much. It was the first one in a while to freak me out. The premise is a random house with random people is attacked by other random people it’s a senseless thing. They couldn’t prevent it from happening.
I watched this when it was still in theaters and wanted to sleep with some lights on that night. That’s rare. I’m a sleep in complete darkness type. I haven’t watched it since but I really should.
Both of the chapters were so well done. I read the book a couple years ago and it took me three months to get through them. Although I wanted to love the book I didn’t… it dragged on too long. However, as a movie this plot thrived.
I watched this one in Spanish sophomore year of high school and again senior year. I absolutely loved it. It is completely in Spanish, I’ve never found a copy in English but it has subtitles! Basically this girl moves back to the orphanage she grew up at and her son disappears and spooky stuff happens. I feel like that’s a bad explanation but just watch it. Trust me.
So basically I really like movies that could happen or have supernatural elements. Am I surprised? Nope.
