2020. Perfect vision, perfect year?
But in all honestly 2020 is going to start out super hectic and I have basically no plan for the year at all. On top of these I also did a post about the seven projects I want to do next year.
I’ve decided to move to Florida in the beginning of January and I do not have a job yet. I’ve had interviews so hopefully I find something quickly. To be fair though, it wouldn’t be the worst thing to have a month or so where I don’t work… And as much as some people bag on retail jobs I actually would love to work as a barista full-time for a year. My financial lifestyle wouldn’t like it, but I would.
Go Someplace New:
I feel like there are a lot of options here. I’ve only been to Orlando, Jacksonville and St. Augustine in Florida so maybe I’ll go to Miami or Daytona beach. I feel as though this one is going to be easy if everything goes through. I also kind of want to go to Maine/ NYC/ DC in the spring. That trip will honestly depend on the whole employment thing.
Create more content
I would really like to start making my posts look more consistent, create more development and coding content. I also cross-post this on dev.to. This is the stuff I enjoy making (along with the million end-of-the-year lists). I also feel like I learn so much more when I write out the posts and to be honest, my biggest referral traffic comes from there. I kind of want to set a goal of 10k followers on that site and 500 on here but I feel like both are more reach goals than anything.
I’ve been playing around with the idea of doing freelance work again. In college I did a little bit and I loved the flexibility I had with my schedule and work locations. I know there are a lot of logistics and forms and stuff when you do that though. I would love to do coding freelance but I’m thinking I might do editing or writing for a while since that’s more in my comfort zone. Also I don’t have the personality of a sales person so who knows how this will go.
There you have it. My goals for 2020. I decided not to have a reading goal this year because it’s going to change depending on what I end up doing with my life. It doesn’t make sense to have a reading goal this coming year.
