Last week was one of my favorite readathons was happening and I always set myself a goal even though the Bout of Books readathon is super chill and that’s totally not necessary. My goal was to read 1000 pages. Did I make it? No. I read 604! I read the sequel of a book I read over a year ago and adored both. I finally got to a book that’s been on my TBR for years so I’d consider it a win!
Instead of my normal wrap-up I’m just popping in to leave a couple links.
I read The Angel’s Game by Carlos Ruiz ZafΓ³n and the review is here. I’ve been checking in throughout reading books so it’s more of multi-part review.
I’ve also been vlogging more now that I have time to actually edit (normally a 5ish hour process). I don’t know how long that’ll last for but my Week One Tome Topple vlog is now up and that encompasses the majority of Bout of Books.
Lastly, I started reading Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. This has been on my TBR for years. I found it in a freebee bin at a thrift store in my hometown. The review will be up once I’m done with it. I’m considering doing the review in two parts since I’m not even halfway and already have so many thoughts it’s the length of a normal blog post.
The next one starts August 17th so keep an eye on their blog for more information.
Great post! I haven’t taken part in any readathons this month as I took part in 3 last month so fancied a break!

I’m debating whether to take a break or not next month. It depends on if I’m going back to work or not. They haven’t told us yet. If I do anything then I’d do the feelgoodathon on YouTube.

You had a productive Readathon it seems! Outlander seems like a very good book, I first heard about it from A Book Utopia in booktube. Can’t wait to see what are your thoughts on itππ»ββοΈ

It is such a long book, it might be better to review it in parts. I confess I read half of it and did not finish. Not because it was not good, but because I made the mistake of watching the series first and it kind of ruined the reading experience for me.

Would totally love to hear your thoughts on Outlander! So, if it’s easier/better on you totally do multiple parts/posts.

It was a lot of stuff in a short week! I think she’s one of the first person I heard raving about it but I think I heard of it before that.

I haven’t seen the series yet and I’ve been wondering if it’s a season per book or what because I don’t want to be spoiled. I have so many books I read half of and then put down for various reasons.

I’m almost at the halfway point! I don’t think it would be much more work than a normal post tbh.

The series is wonderful. I’m still in love with Jamie Frasier but I stopped watching by the end of season two. π

I feel if I was putting down a reaonable number it’d be closer to the 600 or 700 pages but aiming higher makes me read more. I hope you get to it and love it!

I have them both on my list and really looking forward to them, I suppose when you go in with fewer expectations it makes it much better in some cases! I’m so glad you’re liking Outlander!
