The Hallotober Tag!

Hi everyone! Long time no see but I’m here today for a Halloween-themed tag!! I was tagged by one of my faves Luna over at Bookish Luna and couldn’t pass it up. Questions to answer

  1. What is your favorite horror novel or short story?
I think so far it’s Sour Candy by Kealan Patrick Burke or Misery by Stephen King but I haven’t read many straight up horror.
  2. What was the last Halloween costume you wore?
I’ve been Sally for the past two years…. and probably again this year. I originally got it for going to Disney for Halloween and then I was too lazy to come up with a new one last year and I’m not doing anything for this Halloween so there isn’t really a point.
  3. What is your favorite fall snack?
Chocolate chip pumpkin bread but again, haven’t made any this year yet. But I did get a lot fo fall things from Trader Joe’s.
  4. Do you carve pumpkins?
I haven’t the last couple years but I have one this year I might cut open closer to Halloween.
  5. Do you prefer horror movies or stories?
I prefer movies, it’s a lot more atmospheric for me. I feel stories I get taken out a lot easier.
  6. What is your favorite Halloween memory?
I think I’d have to say Halloween my senior year of college, I went out with my friends I hadn’t gone out with in a while.
  7. Do you prefer to give out candy or get candy?
I would like to say I’m the selfless person who just likes seeing people’s costumes but I miss getting candy. I handed it out the last couple years since I was home and just watched movies since it was a low traffic area.
  8. Do you decorate for Halloween or fall?
Not too much. This year I just have a couple pumpkins. I just don’t want to pack it all up when I move so I didn’t buy anything.
  9. Do you have a favorite urban legend? If so what is it?
The one from Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark about the being scared to death by the drum beats is the one that first sticks out but I don’t know if that’s really considered an urban legend.
  10. Would you rather spend a night in a graveyard or a haunted house?
Haunted house 100%. I think it’d be more entertaining and I don’t like being outside after dark to begin with.
  11. What is your favorite spooky movie?
Cozy spooky is Nightmare Before Christmas, horror spooky is El Orfanato or The Stranger.
  12. Who is your favorite character from a horror movie or book?
I am so bad at remembering characters. I had to actually Google horror characters…. but Annie Wilkes. I don’t know how I forgot about her but I find her so interesting from a psychological level.
  13. What is your favorite monster?
See answer 12 but also I love werewolves. I don’t know why, maybe that they can be a part of society and no one would know.

My questions

  1. If you had to be imported into a horror story or movie which would you choose?
  2. What is your favorite horror novel or short story?
  3. What was the last Halloween costume you wore?
  4. What is your favorite fall snack?
  5. Do you carve pumpkins?
  6. Do you prefer horror movies or stories?
  7. What is your favorite Halloween memory?
  8. Do you prefer to give out candy or get candy?
  9. Do you decorate for Halloween or fall?
  10. Do you have a favorite urban legend? If so what is it?
  11. Would you rather spend a night in a graveyard or a haunted house?
  12. What is your favorite spooky movie?
  13. Who is your favorite character from a horror movie or book?

  1. I wish it wasn’t super weird for adults to trick-or-treat. I love candy and costumes. I can’t wait until my niece is old enough to care about Halloween. It’s my favorite holiday, and I need someone to celebrate it with.
