The more I think about this the sadder I get that I only have five years before I’m 30. But also 30 isn’t even old? That’s just society telling us when we’re in our 20s we’re in our prime.
I attempted to curate a list of novels I want to read before I turn 30 and in doing so I tried not to repeat authors. Some authors I’ve read before and I want to read more of, others are books I want to read and have been putting off, some are new releases I was really excited to get to and the hype died down. I did try to make this list only books I own because I own a ton I don’t need to add more to my list right now.
The list of books for 30 before 30:
- The Stand by Stephen King
- One Second After by William R. Forstchen
- The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*ck by Marn Manson
- The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz
- Don Quixote by Cervantes
- Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis (I’ve read two)
- The Three-Body Problem by Cixin Liu
- The Hero of Ages by Brandon Sanderson

- Koko by Peter Straub
- Alone Together by Sherry Turkle
- Defying Reality by David Ewalt

So me being the nerd I am calculated how many months I have and if I did it correctly I have 56 months. So if I read one a month or two for longer works I should be golden. Maybe do an update once a quarter? Maybe I’ll make this into a blog post series somehow.
